Solid-substrate Fermenter
(Stainless Steel Fermenter for Solid Substrates)
Solid-substrate fermenters are bioreactors designed for fermenting solid substrates. Our solid stainless steel fermenters are engineered for producing bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, and enzymes using agricultural by-products (straw, bran, soybean meal) as raw materials. We offer solid fermenter made of SUS316L/304 stainless steel, available in custom capacities ranging from 10L to 30KL. These tanks represent an ideal choice for low-cost, low-risk bioprocessing.
Microorganisms ferment on moist but water-insoluble substrates with the fermentation process containing no or only trace amounts of free water. Efficiency is enhanced by increasing the surface area of agricultural by-products (e.g., straw, bran).
- Equipped with a hollow agitation shaft for internal circulating water to assist in temperature control. Combined with three-tier spiral ribbon blades with scrapers, it effectively increases the material contact area and resolves the issue of uneven temperature distribution found in traditional equipment.
- Features a screw-propelled discharge mechanism, solving the industry pain point of difficult unloading for large-capacity solid materials.
- Significantly reduces wastewater discharge, promoting environmentally friendly production.
- Eliminates or reduces the need for subsequent concentration and drying stages, drastically lowering overall energy consumption.
The system primarily consists of the vessel, jacket, and agitation system. It is also equipped with a drive unit, shaft seal, thermal insulation, and support structure. Additional integrated components include a specialized fermentation sampling and discharge valve, coolant inlet/outlet, temperature sensor port, pH automatic control system, pressure sensor, air breather (sterile vent filter), and CIP (Clean-in-Place) interface.
